This is a plant cell. The big purple thing is the nucleus, It acts as the brain of the cell. The red and darker purple things are the endoplasmic reticulum (or E.R. for short). They move materials around the cell. The difference is that the smooth E.R. does not have any ribosomes attached to it but the rough E.R. does. The last thing I am going to talk about is the the cell membrane and cell wall. both cells have cell membranes but only the plant cell has a cell wall
This is a animal cell. The outside of the cell is a cell membrane. Unlike the plant cell, it does NOT have a cell wall. The gunk inside is the cytoplasm. All of the organelles float in it. Those brown spheres are called lysosomes. They eat old organelles to make room for more. Those tiny red circles are ribosomes. They attach to the nucleus and the rough endoplasmic reticulum and make proteins. Finally, there's the nucleus. The nucleus is the "brain" of the cell. It controls all of the organelles and is in charge of reproduction.
